Happy April Fool's Day! I have no tricks for you here, just a couple truly great products that I've been particularly enjoying in the past month. Before for I go any further, I wanted to mention that this month I was featured on a couple blogs. Check out my holy grail picks on Sugarpuffish, my first-ever interview over on Bailey Blush, and a #FollowFriday feature on Ana Goes Green. Thanks so much to these lovely bloggers for picking me to take part in their series! In terms of favorites, I've remained very loyal to many of the makeup and skincare products in my January and February posts, so this month I only have a few more tweaks to my routine to talk about.
In the skincare department, I started incorporating two rose-scented toners into my regimen: Heritage Store Rosewater and Leaf Seed Berry Rose Toner* (recently reviewed here). I use the Leaf Seed Berry Toner at night because I love it's anti-acne ingredients, and because it contains skin-exfoliating willow bark extract. It also leaves my face feeling hydrated and ready for my face oil. I'm not quite sure if any of the ingredients in the toner happen to be photosensitizing, so to be safe, in the morning I like to use plain old rosewater. Both of these products smell great and do not trigger any breakouts!
For makeup, I've taken to setting my foundation with Jurlique Citrus Silk Finishing Powder*, a product I've always loved, but was set aside when I was in my midst of my mineral foundation phase. Now that I'm using liquid foundations again, I reach for it every day. Even when I set my makeup with this, it still looks a bit dewy like natural skin. It also has a really light, pleasant citrus smell, and the texture and packaging both feel so luxurious. I have a hard time imagining that any other loose powder will outdo this one. This month I've also been kicking my glow up a notch with Bare Minerals READY Bronzer in The High Dive. This is one of the best bronzers I've tried, because of it's realistic color and it comes as an easy-to-use pressed powder. I really want to also try the lighter shade of this bronzer, The Skinny Dip, for all over color, and the darker color, The Deep End, for contouring at some point. I just LOVE bronzer, if you can't tell.
I wrote about my obsession with Egyptian Musk perfumes in Sugarpuffish's feature, and this month I have discovered a new favorite: Inesscents Egyptian Musk. Some companies are a little hazy about what's in their fragrances, but Inessscents' version is completely natural. Their ingredients list includes organic jojoba oil, essential oils, extracts and absolutes. And this is such a rich, potent interpretation of the scent. The major downside is that Inesscents' shipping policy is ridiculous, so find it in a store near you if you can. My other favorite body care product is Better Botanicals Body Oil*, which has a light texture, a convenient spray mister, and an addictive, sweet cinnamon scent. Cinnamon is not a scent that would normally appeal to me, but this body oil smells like a delicious cookie, in a non-cloying way. I love the way the spray nozzle distributes a light layer of oil, and it absorbs like a charm. Once I get through some other body oils, I think this will be a repurchase.
