February Favorites

February has been a great month for product discoveries! I've been using a mix of new favorites and old standbys, and I am really excited about all of them!

It seems like skincare is a good place to start, because this month my skin has been clearer than it's been in ages. I've been loving Blissoma Free Rejuvenating Herbal Gel Cleanser* for removing my makeup and washing my face. Despite its ability to throughly remove all my mascara and foundation, it's one of the most gentle cleansers I have ever tried; it doesn't foam up or strip the skin. Another major, major discovery is Marie Veronique Organic's Treatment line, especially the Treatment Oil* and Treatment Serum*. I have been struggling with tons of cystic acne on my chin for the past year, and now it is completely gone. That's a huge deal to me, and these oils have been a a big part of the improvement. If you are curious to know more, I'll have full reviews of all of these skincare items coming up this month.

My favorite body care products right now are all about dealing with chapped skin! I have been obsessed with Shea Terra Argan & Olive Nourishing 2-n-1 Body Scrub in Clementine* (recently reviewed here) for exfoliating dry skin, especially on my hands and legs. This scrub throughly removes every bit of dryness, easily rinses off, an leaves your skin feeling super supple. Right after exfoliating, I follow up on my hands with a product that's been my favorite all winter long, The Putty by Graydon Clinical Luxury*. This is another product that leaves skin feeling incredibly hydrated and moisturized. For everywhere else, I've been slathering on Nourish Organic Body Butter*. This product has a delightful and completely organic figgy fragrance, and also contains vanilla-infused sunflower oil. The scent is so delicious, I truly wish I could eat it. The texture is whipped and creamy without being too heavy. It is, as Natural Beauty Junkie says, "one of the best body butters ever!" My other favorite all over intensive moisturizer is SBT Sensitve Skin Soothing Salve*. I never get tired of the soothing geranium-lavender scent and the bright yellow color. It's infused with sea buckthorn oils from the berry and seed, which make it particularly effective for healing dry skin. It's become my go-to for overnight hand treatments, and I also enjoy the aromatherapy benefits.

In the makeup department, most of my favorites from last month are still favorites, but I have a couple things to add. I re-fell in love with Dr. Hauschka Translucent Bronze Concentrate, a thin liquid bronzer that looks very natural and glowy. I apply lightly all over with my Real Techniques Stippling Brush and also concentrate it on my temples. The application technique is so simple, just stipple it in until it blends seamlessly with the rest of your makeup. It's such a great, unique product! I am almost out and definitely will be repurchasing. Last but not least, I reordered two of my favorite eyeshadows ever, Nessa's Naturals Mineral Eyeshadows in Vapor and Dash. It's so fun to wear colors you used to love, and I also discovered some new favorites from the line, Pebble and Exposed. All of these really suit my skin tone and eye color, are very wearable, and I like the pearlescent finishes. I don't know exactly what it is about these shadows, but I just love them!

    1. Thank you! I actually happened to post a link on twitter about using manual mode for blog photos, if that interests you!

The review will probably be a long one, and it's coming up in the next couple of weeks!

  4. I am really wanting to try the Blissoma Rice Cleanser but shipping to Canada is so expensive. I think every time I look its 20-30 dollars. I can't remember exactly but it was always something that stopped me from buying it.

The Dr. Hauschka Translucent Bronze Concentrate looks so wonderful. It is on my "to try" list for summer!

    1. Bummer, have you checked to see if you can order it on Amazon or if Abe's Market might have cheaper shipping? You could try to contact them to see if any of their e-tailers ship for more affordable rates.

At least Dr. H is available in Canada!

  7. Nice post. One of my favorites this month that I'd recommend are face moisturizers I first bought while traveling in Hawaii (she also sells online). The brand is "D Medicine Woman", Kona Coffee cream and avocado passion cream. I'm not affiliated with her I just thought it was an awesome face cream (that doesn't break me out or irritate my skin) at a good price. :)
